Weapons for community.

The camera is a wonderful "weapon" for community!  I have met so many amazing people through simply noting their camera or asking permission to take their picture.  Today, seeing two young fellows wandering around like they were lost, I asked them about their cameras.  An hour later we were still visiting, I had taken them to the top of a local building for rooftop shots of the Exchange District and had connected through Flickr.  Turns out they are from and nearby local town, with Mennonite and East Indian roots in their ancestry, and they know the three families that I know in their town.  How cool is that!

Christmas already?!

Wandering around the Exchange District one notices Christmas lights and decoration hanging from the trees…  and all kinds of snow!  Sunday a.m. in mid April?  Ah, yes, the absurdity of making a Christmas movie after the snow melts!  Large rolls of white foamy material are rolled out, covering cars.   A man all bundled up is standing there spraying a hose over everything.. it looks like white soap bubbles but it seems to remain.   A few moments later it actually begins to snow real snow.  The workers rush around covering up equipment.  We want snow, but on our own terms..and we can make it ourselves if we want!!

Pain

Today, my first entry.  Dominated by pain, in my left elbow.  Seems to absorb all by thoughts, can't move my arm, challenged to function with one arm.  Haven't taken any pain killers as yet, have appointment with chiropractor at 8 a.m.... typing this standing up as can't sit either due to lower back.... I'm sure you wanted to know all this.  Trying to become a more sensitive person isn't much fun (if this is part of the training).
